How to set up Internet Filters?
Hello Zoobly parent 👋
This article walks you through how to set up internet filters for your child during Free Time.
Zoobly automatically adjusts content filters based on your child’s age, so they explore safely right from the start. You can also customize these settings to suit your child’s unique needs.
Rest assured, zoobly makes sure your child access content suited to their age — with or without extra setup.
How to customize internet filter settings?
1. Allow / Block Web Categories
You can manage the types of websites your child can access by allowing or blocking web categories.
Go to Scheduling > Select your child > Daily Free Time > Blocked Web Categories > Edit.

Tap the toggle next to each web category to allow (blue) or block (grey) it. Zoobly by default blocks access to adult, mature, and unsafe categories — such as weapons, violence, proxies and hacking.

2. Allow / Block specific websites
To manage individual websites access, go to:
Scheduling > Daily Free Time > Allowed Websites (to permit) or Blocked Websites (to restrict).

- You can customize settings for one child and duplicate them to others using Duplicate settings for Another child option.
- Websites added to the Allowed list will always stay accessible.
- Websites on the Blocked list will always stay restricted.
Whitelist only Mode:
To allow your child visit only selected websites, turn on Whitelist-only mode under Allowed websites. This will let them access only the sites on the Allowed list while all others remain blocked.
Tip: Use this mode only if you want to completely restrict access to all other sites.

3. Setup Network Exemptions
You can exempt specific WiFi networks from zoobly filters. When your child’s device connects to an exempted network, filtering pauses automatically. It resumes once the device gets out of the exempted network.
Go to Scheduling > Daily Free Time > Networks, then add a single IP address or range.

4. Block Phrases/Keywords
If there are specific words or phrases you don’t want your child to search for, you can add them to the Keywords & Phrases list.
Go to Scheduling > Daily Free Time > Keywords and Phrases to add to them to the list. Any web searches for those terms will be blocked automatically.

Please note that all the above customizations apply only during your child’s Free Time. Each schedule have its own settings, so you can customize them individually for your child.
Go to Scheduling > View all schedules > Choose a Schedule, and make edits following the same steps above.
